Why you really want to update iOS now (it’s not emojis) | Cult of Mac.
This is another reminder of why it is important to upgrade your devices when they say there is an update available.
Android devices may be cheaper and more customizable, but you might not be able to run the latest versions of the operating system because either the carrier (AT&T, Sprint, Verizon, etc.) or manufacturer (HTC, Motorola, Samsung, etc.) or both don’t make an update available.
I am very diligent in checking for any system updates and keeping up on any news pertaining to my devices.
On iPhone or iPad, go to Settings -> General -> Software Update. Your device should be fairly well charged, I’d say probably at least 70%. Also, you need to be on Wi-Fi to install the updates. You can also download the update if you connect you device to a computer running iTunes. This is also a good way to backup your device if you don’t have iCloud Backup turned on. That can be turned on by going to Settings -> iCloud -> Backup.
As I said in my post about keeping your computer (desktop or laptop) it is important to both backup and keep your system and apps up-to-date.
